Carthage, North Carolina – Moore County’s Partnership for Children & Families (www.pfcfmc.org) has received $2,200 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation to help nourish neighbors experiencing hunger. The “Nourishing Our Neighbors” grant supports community feeding partners as they tackle food insecurity and promote healthier lifestyles through nutritional education initiatives.

According to Stuart Mills, Executive Director of Partners for Children & Families: “We are delighted, but not surprised, by this generous donation from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation. We are not surprised, because time and again Food Lion has proven itself to be a generous community partner here in Moore County. We will use these funds to distribute nutritious food through our Summer Reading Stations program which serves more than 2,500 Moore County children each year.”

The Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation is committed to supporting families facing food insecurity across its 10-state footprint. Established in 2001, the foundation provides financial support for programs and organizations dedicated to feeding local neighbors in the communities it serves. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded more than $19.6 million in grants.
